7 Reasons why you shouldn’t work with us

Choosing a company to build your website project, or your online marketing campaign, is a big decision to make. It is an intimidating decision, and will most likely be a significant investment.

Choosing a provider when companies are throwing around buzzwords faster than Naas Botha can say “But on the other hand, Darren”. That is why we thought we would make your decision a little bit easier.

We love what we do. That’s why I am always browsing marketing blogs, and reading business books on my Kindle. And why Daniel can be found scouring Facebook groups and Youtube videos for the newest techniques.

Not only do we live and breathe online marketing, we have built multiple businesses with websites and online marketing.

We practice what we preach.

Just ask us about our kids toys website, about Eben’s woodworking websites, the disposable camera eCommerce site and Daniel’s fertilizer business.

But back to your decision, and the 7 reasons why you would choose NOT to work with us.

Reason 1: You want Yes-men

If you are looking for a pair of hands that will just go along with whatever you think you needt, we are not the right choice for you.

If you want experienced minds that have a few tricks up their sleeve, and who will help you find the best way to grow your business, then you can keep reading.

Reason 2: You want to sit back and not do any work

Any project we tackle together (whether it is a website project, or a marketing campaign), requires your input.

You know your industry, your clients and your business inside out. Without your inputs, our hands are tied and your results won’t be as good as it could be with your input.

Reason 3: Your deadline is yesterday

We get it. Some times projects are under very strict and very short deadlines.

We believe in doing things right from the start. We don’t take shortcuts, or cut corners, or skimp on anything. We don’t do our best work under immense pressure.

This means we are NOT the fastest. We are proud of doing things right the first time. There is nothing more frustrating than doing a task twice because it wasn’t done right the first time around.

This approach means your website will most likely take between 4 and 8 weeks. Heads up, your involvement (see Reason 2) is critical in keeping this timeframe short.

If you want someone that can just smash out a few hours, or make some quick changes to the website, we are not the right choice for you.

We want to be your long term partner. Planning improvements and making sure we make the right changes that will make an impact on your website.

Reason 4: You want a “brochure website”

Maybe it is because we have seen how powerful a website can be when it is done right. Maybe it is because we have witnessed some of our clients grow (and sometimes double their business!) because of a properly done website.

If you want a “brochure website”, we are definitely not the right company for you.

We believe that a website is an incredibly powerful marketing tool that can change businesses and change lives.

If you think building and launching a website is the silver bullet that will save your business, or that will pay for that purple Lamborghini, then we are not the right company for you.

Along the same lines, if you think SEO (or Facebook Ads) is a silver bullet by itself, it might be best to move on to the next company.

Reason 6: You only want SEO [or insert any other service here]

If you are ONLY looking for SEO help (or help with one specific channel), we might not be the best fit for you.

We get it. You have a big idea.

But if we are being honest, we get about a dozen calls a year from potential clients with huge ideas.

These kinds of ideas need massive budgets, and full-time development teams to make it work.

And to be honest, our strong suit is marketing. Not pure coding and development.
